Emily is currently finishing her last semester of her Masters of Education in School Counseling, at Loyola University Maryland. While there, Emily has focused on pursuing opportunities allowing her to engage with and learn from students of all age levels within the school system. This has allowed Emily to gain experience communicating and helping individuals from all walks of life.
So far, Emily has interned in an Elementary School and High School, both part of the Howard County Public School System. During these internships, Emily was able to engage in individual counseling, group counseling, as well as creating and presenting her classroom lessons based on the school’s specific needs. This upcoming semester, Emily will complete her last internship in a Montgomery County Public Middle School.
Emily employs an integrative, compassionate, creative, and empowering therapeutic approach when working with her students. She is passionate about creating a safe, authentic, and non-judgmental space for students to heal, grow, and reach their ultimate goals. After graduating this December, Emily plans to work towards her LCPC so that she can practice out of the school system as well.
