Courtney is an LMSW working under the supervision of Courtney Nazzaro, LCSW-C. Courtney believes that the bond formed between therapist and client is the foundation for healing, change and growth. Her goal is to create a safe space for a person to feel truly heard, accepted and valued. She does not use a “one-size-fits-all” model in her work as she views all persons as unique.
Courtney is a prudent listener and clear communicator with an empathetic, culturally sensitive and nonjudgemental approach to working with all persons. She has clinical experience as a therapist in an outpatient community mental health program working with adults, adolescents and children.
Courtney specializes in working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, grief and loss, low self-esteem and trauma. Courtney’s therapy approach is based primarily in Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with inclusions of motivational interviewing and narrative therapy techniques. When appropriate, she loves to incorporate creative interventions such as art, video games, film and humor.
Courtney attended New York University for her undergraduate degrees in both Cinema Studies and Psychology. Three years later, she attended University of Texas at Austin to earn her master’s degree in Science and Social Work.
Courtney is in the office on Saturdays.
